About this event

Description: This two-hour workshop will provide participants an introduction on how their unconscious mind works and an understanding on the basis behind implicit associations. Participants will be led through exercises to recognize and understand their own biases and learn strategies to address them. The workshop will also teach how implicit biases contribute to health disparities in healthcare access, outcomes, and more, and explain why biases are important to recognize and address within evidence-based programs.

Learning Objectives:

  • Define implicit bias.
  • Identify the impact of implicit bias in healthcare.
  • Recognize the implicit biases held by oneself.
  • Identify and use strategies for disrupting or reducing implicit bias.
